Meet Dr. Craig Burhoop

The Professional Side

Before becoming a dentist, Dr. Burhoop earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Creighton University School of Dentistry in 1994. Since then, he has continued his education through professional courses, seminars, and study groups. He takes his continuing education very seriously because it keeps him on the cutting edge of the latest advances, materials, and techniques in the ever-changing dental field. Dr. Burhoop’s studies also renew his passion for great dentistry, and he’s always looking for proven technologies to implement, ensuring patients receive the best care available.

Dr. Burhoop finds it fulfilling to provide such a necessary service to his patients and to do so in a comfortable, even relaxing, manner. He loves it when new patients look up at him at the end of their visit and say how surprisingly easy it was! He enjoys the personal relationships that have evolved from serving patients since 1994, and looks forward to meeting you and your family.

For Dr. Burhoop, being a dentist means serving the community’s people and families, helping them attain and retain healthy, beautiful smiles for life. When a patient has an emergency situation, he is happy to be there for them and relieve their pain or discomfort. If a patient comes in wanting a brighter smile, he enjoys helping them attain that. The looks and comments of gratitude he receives from the community make him realize how essential it is to treat everyone with the respect and compassion they deserve.

While in dental school, he had the unique privilege of serving for three months in the Dominican Republic, providing dental care to underserved residents of a remote village. In 2002, he also participated in a medical/dental mission trip on the Amazon River in Brazil, traveling by boat to remote places and giving dental care. In the winter of 2018, he served others in Phoenix, Arizona, placing implants on veterans and others who could not have otherwise afforded them.

In September of 2018, Dr. Burhoop was awarded Fellowship and Diplomate status with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). That achievement was earned through education, research, and actual clinical experience, and is the highest honor that can be given to a dental professional involved in oral implantology.

Even though he takes his job incredibly seriously, he also loves having fun! After all, dentistry is all about smiles. He and his team have been working together for many years, and enjoy building a practice where anyone can feel at home. They serve a wide range of patients from diverse backgrounds and want everyone to feel welcome and appreciated here.

The Personal Side

Dr. Burhoop grew up in York, Nebraska, and has been a part of the Sioux City community since 1996. He and his lovely wife, Julie, have two daughters named Abigail and Isabella. When not in the office, he enjoys being outdoors, boating, water skiing, and scuba diving. Of course, he always loves spending time with his wonderful family!
