Creating Smiles in Siouxland.
We are a family-owned office with a professional team who makes your dental care our top priority.
We love creating smiles in Siouxland, and, it’s easy because our patients love us so much. We believe that intention combined with skill is the combination that keeps our patients loyal and generous with their praise. The goal of our team is to listen first, then deliver excellence with comfort. We truly love what we do and we hope that shines through from the moment you walk through the door, to the follow-up phone call after your visit. Our hope is that you walk away with a smile.
We also believe in being philanthropic. It’s an honor to serve the Sioux City and Elk Point communities. Be sure to connect with us on Facebook to see how our team is serving and supporting some of our favorite charities.
We recently sponsored a Learning Lab at GiGi’s Playhouse-Sioux City! They provide services at no cost to those with Down Syndrome, including one-on-one math and literacy tutoring.

Get to know us a little better before, during or after your visit. We can't wait to meet you!
Sara is our office manager who helps keep us organized as a team and enjoying our day! She has two daughters who make her life so much fun! When not at work, you can find Sara and her family at Lake Okoboji. They love spending their weekends there from Spring to Fall.
Front Desk Coordinator
Vicki is our front desk coordinator, often the friendly voice our patients hear on the phone and the first smiling face they see when coming into the office. Vicki enjoys talking with patients and making them feel welcome. She loves that our team laughs together every day. Sometimes it’s because of a funny thing our kids did or might be something funny that happened at the office…it’s just one of the little things that makes Vicki such a pleasure to work with! Vicki has been married to her husband Randy for many years. They have a son Cade, as well as a very spoiled dog! They love to go for walks, do yard work, decorate, and shop.
Front Desk Coordinator
Ashli is a newer member to the team, but is thrilled to be able to work with a such great group of people. You might see her most often at our Knopik Family Dentistry location, but don’t be surprised to see her at Lakeport, too! She enjoys spending time with her son, boyfriend, and her boyfriend’s daughter. Family is the most important thing to her and is a huge animal lover. She also has an adventurous side that includes skydiving!
Front Desk Coordinator
Tricia is our Front Desk Coordinator so she is one of the first smiling faces you’ll see when you visit! Tricia loves spending any extra moment she can with her two children and grandbaby. One of her many talents is playing the theme song to Sesame Street on the piano and avoiding animals like ducks and geese - one could say she has a duck and goose phobia!
Beatriz is fluent in Spanish and is very passionate about educating her patients to help them understand the importance of oral health. Beatriz graduated from the University of South Dakota in 2017 with a Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene. Her hobbies include spending time with her fur baby Kiloz and working out at a Crossfit gym where she is also a coach.
Carrie graduated from USD and has been practicing dental hygiene since 2007. Carrie strives to make patients feel comfortable and provide great patient care. Mikayla grew up in Danbury, Iowa before attending the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD, where she studied for her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and graduated from that program in 2020. When not treating patients at the office, Mikayla enjoys spending time outdoors, caring for her dog and cat, and getting together with her family.
Sherry is an experienced and wonderful Dental Assistant. She graduated from the Dental Assistant training program at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, LA. Sherry makes each patient’s visit pleasant by providing the best, most gentle care possible.
Ashley is a dental assistant with a drive to provide patients with the best care. This not only is Ashley at work, but at home too! When she’s not working, her two twin daughters keep her busy. She loves caring for them and living life to the fullest in whatever she is doing.
Ruth is team member always striving to be the best version of herself. She loves to learn new things that enable her to grow, which is one of the reason she doubles as a dental assistant and front office team member! The experience at Dr. Burhoop's was one of the best visits I have had at a dental office. The dental assistants and dental hygienists are compassionate and very calming. Dr. Burhoop makes the experience an enjoyable one and guides you in what you need to complete on each visit. If you are in need of a dentist, call The Dentist at Lakeport!

Using Technology to Empower Optimal Health
At The Dentist, it is our goal to help each of our patients achieve optimal oral health through convenient, comprehensive family care. That is why we provide thorough diagnosis and treatment with the help of 3-D Cone Beam technology. 3-D Dental X-Rays are safe and they allow us to obtain images at the highest resolution possible.
3D Con Beams X-Rays
Dr. Burhoop uses the 3D Cone Beam X-ray not only to diagnose various conditions, but to prepare the best possible treatment plan for each individual patient. Not everyone is the same, and the 3D X-ray shows Dr. Burhoop and our staff things like your bone density, thickness, and where your nerves are, allowing us to provide you the best care possible. We are committed to having current technology to give each patient the care they deserve. Providing exceptional patient care that you can trust is our highest priority.
